SMART LIVING. SMART MOBILITY. SMART PEOPLE.
As a our cities are evolving the "citizen" paradigm is shifting from the consumer to the producer perspective. Citizens are not only living in their city but they also take part to its development and collaborate with local governments to improve the quality of life.
Urban growth worldwide has put the cities at the forefront of development issues. The concept of sustainable city has evolved from the environmental perspective and now takes in consideration socio-economic issues.
By 2030, UN HABITAT, expects 67% of the world population to live in cities and 2 billions of people could be living in places that have not reached acceptable levels of quality of life.
Making cities better is a Global Challenge!
The city of the future will inevitably be "smart" and citizens will play a big role in its construction.
Smart Citizens is a smart cities pilot in Cameroon that will build the foundations for urban intelligence. Cities involved in the pilot will be able to redefine civic engagement, share or provide data that will help local governments to improve public services and build better places for all.
Its implementation supported by digital transformation efforts will help citizens take informed decisions about the way they live, they move and they collaborate within their cities.
Sustainable cities at human scale.
